THE FUTURE IS OUR PAST                                                          Researching possible future sites

Here are some examples of possible future projects that have been through some of the research phases and the initial constraint tests phase. These have been put on hold due to the 2020 pandemic situation but will be reviewed during the Spring of 2021.

New concepts and possibilities are always looked at and pursued to understand what can be realised from each individual site that is understood from the initial constraint tests.. These include health and safety, light pollution, ergonomics of space or spaces to be considered , equipment, team players, power sources, technical, natural light constraints, budgets, time scales, public liability insurances, etc to name a few.

ONGOING AND POSSIBLE FUTURE PROJECTS.

Wild-Light Design specialises  in looking for possible interesting historic sites that have the potential to create a unique interpretation of history along with the surrounding natural or built environment that can inspire to create a diversity of educational experiences.

Some of the buildings shown are some that have already been looked at for tests and some merely as future possibilities.

LANDeSCAPE                            Museum of the Landscape.

Dedicating much of my Design interests in Concept Museum Design. Many years later  moving back to the Uk after 10 yrs on the continent found my self in a difficult situation whilst trying to build my career back during the financial crash of 2008.

After living in major European cities I came back to the confines of the Stour Valley on the Esssex Suffolk Border where I had an enchanting magical Childhood.

On my return I spent most of my time rediscovering what I had missed for many years which rejuvenated my inspirations .

Through this I became aware that whichever landscape you find yourself can become a conceptual open museum. No walls, just the landscape and what is on offer. This could include woodlands, rivers, ancient trackways, lost sites on maps, aerial crop marks, ancient buildings, etc. etc., to tell the landscape’s own unique historic story incorporating its natural history.

CAMULODUNUM                                                                Today's Colchester.

Researched by Wild-light-LandEscape , bought light to the understanding of why the Romans wanted so much to take over this ancient tribal kingdom  Fortress of the War God Camulus.

Through extensive research an understanding how the Tribal Kingdom was constructed by the use of its location between two rivers which were the natural moat defence system from the North, East and the South.

A massive Dyke defence system was built between the two rivers protecting against invasions from the West which later the Romans besieged and created thier capital of Britain, Colonia Victoriosa.

Wild-Light-LandEscape has been creating foraging walks on Grymes Dyke for seveal years which it can be estimated several hundred people have now become aware of this incredible lost ancient monument. The future aims of LandEscape is to create more events which will encorage people to stop and think about thier ancestrial inheritance.

THE FLATFORD MILL SITE (AONB) ENGLISH HERTAGE

This hidden gem in the Stour Valley is Flatford Mill which was owned by the famous painter John Constable's family.

FLATFORD MILL RIVER STOUR SUFFOLK. (AONB)

The infamous Haywain by John Constable RA.

The infamous Haywain by John Constable RA.

John constables Haywain painted in 1821 is probably the most idealic painting of English rural life during this period but the reality was a country life of much hardship in the Flatford Mill basin.

WILLY LOTTS COTTAGE FLATFORD MILL.

This Fine 16th cent Grade 1 listed Building has to be the most famous English Cottage captured in the painting of the Haywain.

One of the concepts for Willy Lott’s is to project onto its exterior is the world famous painting The Haywain by John Constable onto the subject that he painted.

Light and constraint tests have been taken and will be reviewed during the Spring 2021.

This stunning 15th cent Grade 1 listed building is another gem at the Flatford Mill site. An excellent important example of rural farming Architecture. This has given Wild-Light-Design inspiration for possibilities, a perfect 3 dimensional interpretation screen.

VALLEY FARM LIGHT TESTS.

Initial Tests at Valley Farm were undertaken which had to be postponed due to visitors sleeping in the building while at that time of the year our light levels colided with this.

The images used were a contiuation from Avebury Church project which became ideal for tests.

Concepts so far is to create a walk round projection gallery as there are ten projection points around the buildings exterior. One of the ideas for this is projecting images that correspond to, if the building was imersed back to nature and compleatly overgrown from the materials it had originated from the wood and the soil as an example of what comes from nature will eventually return to it .

TEMPLER BARNS, CRESSING TEMPLE, ESSEX.

Cressing Templer  Barns are the Worlds oldest remaining timber framed barns. Built around the 13th cent by the Nights Templer.

After having involvement in a Medieval fair on this site during 2019 I was granted to return to do some tests which may result into a project on this impressive site.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             2021 AND BEYOND!

Here I have managed to show examples of work in progress and a few ideas for future projects. When you think about the Times we are going through today and can look at it quite negetively ,just take a little time and think about what some of these sites, the people and thier buildings which are our time capsules of our past that can show us today of what they have been through and are still standing afer Wars, Famines,  Plagues, Fires , Climate Changes, Revolutions and Revolts just to name a few.

Wild-Light hopes to carry on and develop this work for many to enjoy and experience a wealth that these buildings and monuments can interpret and offer in there own unique way as if they are speaking to us .
